Dr. Rabia Akhtar in Conversation with Dr. Tanvi Madan in the SISS Faculty Conversation Series

On June 6, Director Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research(CSSPR), Dr. Rabia Akhtar hosted eminent Indian foreign policy expert and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, Washington DC, Dr. Tanvi Madan for a conversation in the SISS Faculty Conversation Series. Dr. Madan discussed her new book entitled”Fateful Triangle: How China Shaped U.S.-India Relations During the Cold War”, and how its main thesis is critical to understanding the current dynamics of U.S.-Indo ties. She expounded on the  evolving situation in Ladakh, the diversification vs nonalignment debate in Indian foreign policy,and India’s inhibitions with regard to the growing Sino-Pak relations. She also stressed the importance of history as a discipline and the  need for more interactions between scholars of South Asia. Here is the video of the conversation:
