Titled “Advanced Research Methodologies: An Interdisciplinary Workshop for Social Science Researchers and Academics”, it aims to enhance understandings about all critical aspects of social science research so as to equip participants to produce better, research-intensive, and a more academically-rich body of knowledge going forward. The sessions of this five-day Workshop will be hosted both at UoL and FCCU. The Workshop will focus on key areas of social science research, to include modern e-searching techniques, citation management, proposal writing, building and engaging with theoretical frameworks, effectively and optimally using quantitative and qualitative research tools, and collating and analyzing data. Special emphasis will be laid on training participants in conducting policy-oriented research that leads to navigating foremost policy challenges facing Pakistan. This will go a long way in helping bridge the divide between academia, think tanks, and policymaking bodies, an objective shared by both CSSPR and CPPG. The participants will also be trained in deconstructing and critiquing established theories, with a view to enabling them to look at new, broader, and more indigenous theoretical constructs. Therefore, a module on critical thinking and exercises has been carefully designed for the said Workshop.

Director, CSSPR, Dr. Rabia Akhtar, and Director, CPPG, Dr. Saeed Shafqat, will Co-Direct the Workshop. The program of the Workshop can be accessed here. The sessions will be conducted by the two institutions’ experienced faculty members. Meet them here.
