CSSPR Signs MoU With Pakistan Research Centre for a Community With Shared Future

On July 20, 2023, the Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan Research Centre for a Community With Shared Future (PRCCSF). The MoU was signed in a meeting between Director, CSSPR, Dr. Rabia Akhtar, and Executive Director, PRCCSF, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram. The meeting was part of an ongoing outreach tour to Islamabad that Dr. Akhtar recently conducted, with a view to establishing stronger linkages with think tanks, key policymaking organizations, and academic institutions.

This MoU will facilitate both organizations to conduct research on a range of issues and areas concerning Pakistan and the Central Asian Republics (CARs). Furthermore, both institutions will dabble in researching the constructs of regional connectivity and economic integration. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akhtar said CSSPR can benefit from the multifaceted work PRCCSF is doing under the leadership of  Mr. Khalid, adding that CSSPR will bring in its expertise in research and analyses, to produce quality academic work on this important set of issues. Mr. Khalid said both think tanks can complement each other’s strengths in a manner that will help produce actionable policy-laden documents for the government on key issues.

Executive Director, PRCCSF, Mr. Khalid, is an international expert on geo-strategic affairs, with specialization in the Belt & Road Initiative and Eurasian region. He is a multiskilled  security/intelligence advisor with proven expertise in analyzing the strategic requirements relating to counter terrorism. He has rich expertise of over 30 years, including in the realm of policymaking for military and intelligence institutions in both strategic and operational capacities, and also has a vast experience of policy planning amidst evolving international politics. He served in different security institutions from 1993 and got retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in November 2015. Currently, he is working as advisor and consultant with a number of institutions across Eurasia.

As a follow up to this signing, CSSPR and PRCCSF will host a number of joint conferences, seminars, and competitions pertaining to key regional issues, not least those related to connectivity.
