On December 2, 2021, the Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the Ankara Center for Crisis and Policy Studies(ANKASAM). The Memorandum was signed by Director, CSSPR, Dr. Rabia Akhtar, and President, ANKASAM, Prof. Mehmet Seyfettin EROL, The MoU will enable and facilitate both Centers to conduct joint research, organize conferences and dialogues , and produce policy-relevant , research-laden publications on issues relating to Pak-Turk relations, regional and global geopolitics, the phenomenon of geoeconomics, and the prospect of strategic connectivity across regions. Both Centers committed to working on a set of areas in which their research experiences and expertise can complement and feed into each other.
While signing the MoU both Dr. Akhtar and Prof. EROL highlighted the significance of joint research in not only recalibrating the nature and direction of Pak-Turk relations but also harnessing the true potential, prospect, and utility of their strategic bonhomie. They argued that collaborations like this are critical to understanding where the two countries stand, what are the avenues of cooperation, and what are the bottlenecks that both countries will have to navigate going forward.
Committed to giving data-oriented, research-infused, and long-term strategic policy inputs to policymakers, CSSPR looks forward to taking advantage of ANKASAM’s approach towards working under a strategic, broad framework. ANKASAM aims to deepen academic and research linkages between Pakistan and Turkey by partnering with CSSPR.
