CSSPR Webinar Report |Trilateral Security in South Asia: Future of Sino-Indo-Pak Relations post-Pandemic


In the second webinar of the CSSPR Webinar Series, the Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR), University of Lahore, hosted prominent Indian defense analyst, Pravin Sawhney for a conversation on “Trilateral Security Dynamics in South Asia: Future of Sino-Indo-Pak Relations post-Pandemic.” Director CSSPR, Dr. Rabia Akhtar moderated the webinar along with Muhammad Sharreh Qazi, Lecturer SISS and Syed Ali Zia Jaffery, Research Associate CSSPR. Pravin Sawhney talked about the strategic matrix in South Asia, the shifting contours of the Sino-U.S. rivalry, and the positions of Pakistan and India on the military force-military power pendulum. He also discussed the centrality of dialogue as a mechanism of conflict-resolutions in South Asia while warning that snubbing the conflict-resolution and prioritizing conflict will be a costly-affair for India. He also stressed the need for India and Pakistan to understand the future of a technology-heavy war, and to prepare accordingly.
