The Two-day International Conference on Threats to Security in the 21st Century :Finding a Global Way Forward ,concluded on Sunday, May 6. The first of its kind conference in the country’s strategic nerve center  brought together academics, practitioners and budding scholars in a bid to deliberate on issues on a multitude of threats to global security and find a way to deal with them.
The conference was marked by the presence of a galaxy of foreign delegates, to include former Indian minister, Mani Shankar Aiyer, Kimberly Dozier from the US; Shashank Joshi from RUSI; Tong Zhao from Carnegie, Dr. Rohaida Nordin from the National University of Malaysia and Dr. Muhammad Ali from Nigeria. A distinguished group of plenary speakers from Pakistan embellished the conference to include former Foreign Secretary Amb. Najmuddin Sheikh Professor Nazir Hussain; Ms. Salma Malik; Khalid Banuri(former DG ACDA); Dr. Farrukh Saleem; Brig. Zahir Kazmi(ACDA); Rahimullah Yousafzai and Dr. Tariq Rauf(CTBTO). The conference was also highlighted by Ejaz Haider’s conversations with Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar and Dr. Moeed Yusuf, former Foreign Minister and Vice President USIP, respectively. Also, 70 national and international scholars presented their academic papers.
The conference was graced by President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan. During the opening ceremony, Chairman University of Lahore, Mr. Awais Rauf, launched “Pakistan Politico “, the country’s first strategic and foreign affairs magazine.
