On November 29, 2021, the Center for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR), University of Lahore, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Diplomatic Relations and Political Studies (DIPAM), Istanbul, Turkey. The MoU was signed by Director, CSSPR, Dr. Rabia Akhtar, and President, DIPAM, Tolga Sakman. As per the terms of the MoU, both think tanks will work on joint research projects, organize conferences and dialogues, and facilitate exchange programs between scholars and researchers. DIPAM and CSSPR look forward to working on areas of mutual interests, with a view to providing research-laden policy inputs on bilateral, regional, and global affairs to policymakers in Ankara and Islamabad. Highlighting the importance of collaborations like this, both Dr. Akhtar and Mr. Sakman argued that such initiatives are critical to creating awareness and knowledge about the strengths of, and opportunities in, Pak-Turk relations, as well as identifying the prospect of anchoring these ties within the broader construct of regional connectivity. With both think tanks committed to producing quality, impactful outputs, the MoU is expected to lead the way in giving intellectual impetus to Pak-Turk relations.
